We are often placed in positions of pain during our lives—physical ailments, separation from loved ones, personal loss, the aftermath of poor decisions, and so on. But we are not placed in positions of suffering, which is voluntary and avoidable. Bear the pain, seek help if you must, but don’t allow yourself to succumb to ongoing suffering.

Mindset: Guilt will cause suffering, so look for the cause to learn from, and not blame to be consumed by.
